Celebrating the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. Bringing special focus to the whole life of this amazing person; blessings and thoughts of gratitude. Where would we be without his incredible life-example and his creation of a superb teaching and his establishment of the Sangha? We come together as a community to share our common blessings – and through our coming together we amplify those blessings. All are welcome.
SongkranA very joyful time was had by all. There are a few photos but… we have started a new photo album for Autumn so you need to look in the Photo Archives – Summer.
Working BeeA very productive day. The morning was spent erecting the cloister marquee in preparation for Vesak. The main afternoon focus was finishing off the river flood damage. Trees obscuring the vihara patio view were cleared and the track up to Ajahn Kusalo’s kuti was significantly repaired – more water erosion. Photos
GuestsWe have been having a lot of lay guests recently with quite a few ‘first timers’. This is great and the energy they all bring is much appreciated; it is so nice that the monastery is being utilised. If you are thinking of coming to stay as a guest please book as early as you can. You are all most welcome.
FloodsSeveral people have contacted us with concerns as to how we are faring through the rough weather patches we have had. Basically the affect has not been so bad. There was damage around the river and several tracks have been badly eroded. Track drains are in need of upgrading. A few fallen trees, but nothing so large as can’t be easily managed. Nursing KutiThis has been finished for a while now with a blessing ceremony held over a couple of months ago. There have been a few ‘less local’ friends who have helped support the project but who have not been able to visit the monastery so we have put a page together on the website with a bit of explanatory text and a few Photos. We have actually used the spaces but mostly for guest overflow rather than medical purposes.
