10-day RetreatA report: The core group saw much growth in “Knowledge in Samadhi-Sati”. There were several people who came intermittently through the week and a committed block staying for both weekends. From the residents’ perspective the ten days created an excellent foundation for our ongoing vassa practice. Many thanks to all who brought dana to feed us and to those who helped coordinate accommodation, chores, meals, etc. Sadhu.! view photos
ToiletThere has, for some years now, been an ongoing discussion about a monks’ toilet at the dhamma sala. The need has generally been agreed as has the undesirability of having it in the hall itself. The planned site is to one side of the grass area out back of the sala. Services from the Chao Khun kuti can easily be tapped into and overall costs kept relativly low. see: future plans
Rainbow RoomMonasteries are often not that kid-friendly. There is an idea to create a “Rainbow Room” (the equivalent at Amaravati in U.K.). There is an unused space under the workshop that could easily be turned into a bright, open area for kids. Far enough away from the sala so as not to disturb, close enough for supervision. The thought is that creation would be a kids-familly project with a few working bees over the coming summer. see: future plans There are many details to discuss but if you are interested please email the monastery
Kathina SeasonOur celebration will be on Sunday November 8th. More details to follow.
