Kathina Season Celebration:Our robe offering is this Sunday, the 18th of November. Precepts at 10.15am. Come early to get a park and a seat. This event could be bigger than the premiere of the Hobbit.
Marquee Up:With a splendid turn out of friends to help, the erection of the marquee was a breeze. view photos The forecast is for sun this Sunday (funny that 🙂 but having the canopy in place makes the cloister a lovely space with carpets down and lots of decorations and such.

Fire Extinguishers:Our annual fire check up shows that about twenty of our fire extinguishers are out of date and need replacing. Mostly they are 1kg dry powder. The fires of greed, hatred and delusion certainly need putting out. Hopefully our buildings don’t but it would be nice to be prepared if they do.
Ajahn in Auckland:Ajahn Kusalo has just returned from several days in Auckland. The weekend was spent at the Vihara in Mt. Wellington meeting up with old friends and sharing dhamma. The remaining time was at Vimutti monastery with Ajahn Chandako. That place is looking so beautiful and vibrant. The trees that have been planted are thriving and the community is also in good health. A very fruitful visit.
