19th October 2016

CondolencesHis Majesty King Bhumibol of Thailand passed away on the afternoon of 13th of October aged 88. Bodhinyanarama has its roots in Thailand and the loss of such a prominent person is felt by us all. So many people were connected in so many different ways to His Majesty and the monastery offers its sincere condolences to all. May he realise Nibbana.
Kathina S.C.Many words come to mind to describe our celebration on Sunday; happy, joyful, generous, harmonious, smooth, devotional, supportive, (very) generous… Many hundreds gathered in the sala and cloister to celebrate our common love of Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha and this place with the opportunities it presents. The weather was kind. The procession up to the stupa was a delight with just enough wind to lift flags and chanting. We were very happy to have almost all the local monks join with us; fifteen in all. We also had the Thai Ambassador and his wife attend. Many thanks to all those who offered their time and resourcesto make this event such a success. view photos
