Tudong:Ajahn Kusalo and Venerable Hiriko set out on Feb. 28th to wander around the East Cape. Meeting with Ajahn Chandako in Rotorua we spent a very fruitful 12 days. There was a good mix of time together and time alone. We didn’t meet many people along the way but those we did were all happy to meet monks. The many photos will take a while to sort but here are a few view photos
Ajahn Ariyasilo:Ajahn has moved back to Australia, this time to Wat Buddha Dhamma in NSW. We thoroughly enjoyed his stay with us and very much appreciated his companionship, help and guidance. There is a good chance he will be back – when it is warmer ๐
New Kutis:We have employed a builder friend from Tauranga to build the two new kutis. Material has arrived and work has begun setting up the site and workshop. The first foundation posts are in. There were plans to have a working bee but John is pretty confident there won’t be that much to move. Feel free to drop by and check out progress – or even bang in a few nails. view photos
Queen’s Birthday Retreat:The Elders’ meetings in UK will see Ajahn Kusalo still in England for June 1st so there will be no retreat. The plan is to have a longer retreat during the winter/vassa period.
Emptiness Obscured:How many of you have noticed the large black pipe at the back of the sala cutting through ‘the moat of emptiness?’ It feeds our fire sprinkler system and is functional but an aesthetic eye sore. And now… tis buried beneath. The space is (almost) restored. view photos
