New Year RetreatDecember 26th > January 3rd. Enter the new year with added clarity and joy. Accommodation is very limited; booking form. The retreat is semi-residential so you can come for all or part, come through the day and return home.
Event TransitionsWith the busyness of the season some events vary.
Old AgeThe monk’s sauna started life as an old railway shed, delivered on the same truck with the library. Did you know that the library was originally the sitting room of an old house? Both buildings are old but the sauna sits next to the stream and has not only old age but damp and rot. We thought to replace it but the sangha finally decided on restoration which has been much cheaper. Many days later – much tidier. view photos

New Year’s Eve-DayOn new year’s eve we have a midnight vigil to welcome in the new year. This is part of the retreat and you can come just for this evening. Forgiveness & aspirations, rituals & ceremonies. On new year’s day the sangha walk on pindapat down Stokes Valley Road. Both of these opportunities are a great way to start the year.
Stupa ProjectThe sauna restoration took over the last of the year so no work has been done. This is just to remind you that this is happening. There are two key elements required: the moonstone (sandakada pahana) and the parinibbana rupa. details here
