Peace DemonstrationThis Saturday, Wellington, Civic Square, 1pm until… everyone is peaceful? The sangha will meditate together (at least until 3pm) and you are all welcome to join us at any time in silent prayer, blessings, merit sharing, peaceful public coexistence, as support for all those who are suffering in the context of the Christchurch shooting. Even your just coming for 10 minutes is a blessing. How do we heal madness? By offering as much sanity to the world as we can. By living a kind and generous life, visibly exhibiting as much positive goodness as possible, keeping our own heart free of greed, hatred and confusion. Meditation is a way to help us become more aware of areas where we can each apply our efforts – both to understand and avoid the unwholesome and to cultivate the wholesome. May all beings – without exception – be at peace. All are welcome.
Meditation WorkshopApril 6th, 1-5pm. Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators. Also, please note that the May workshop has been canceled; we will be having a working bee on that day – see below.
Working BeeSaturday, May 4th, 12:30. The Thai embassy is organizing a merit-making working bee at the monastery to commemorate the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Much of the work around the monastery is outdoors so we hope for good weather. Either way there will be plenty to do with something for everyone – old, young, short or tall…
Building WorkThe Raja kuti is about half done with new flooring, relocated kitchen, a window seat, storage cupboard and two sets of bunks. Do have a look next time you visit the monastery. The Garden kuti is a bit more complicated with levels and spaces not so easily defined. There is a new access track to it which offers much more privacy. view photos
