Land Swap:The continuing discussion… The current suggestion is to swap the minimum amount of land that has the council track for the triangle with our track and we pay for the area difference – about 15 acres. Have a look at the web site: News>Future. The notable saving here is that existing survey points can be used. Land valuation has yet to be agreed.
Sala By-pass:One of the monastery tracks starts at the rear of the sala and sees quite a bit of through traffic. This can be very disruptive especially if there is meditation or teaching in progress. This path also passes within just a few meters of the kuti out back of the sala. A by-pass will join the longer loop to the stream track thus allowing the area behind the sala to be private. Web site: News>Future. The high track crown just below the upper house will be lowered for easier walking. view photos
Kitchen Trellis:Work is proceeding well on the fence behind the kitchen with the first trellis laths in place. The plan is to have this finished before the carpark asphalt work begins next month. view photos
Venerables:Venerable Thitavijjo will return on the 27th February after spending time with his family in Malaysia over Chinese New Year. We now have a confirmed date for Venerable Hiriko’s arrival; May 24th. It has taken quite a while to negotiate his new passport and visa applications and these should be completed soon. More detail later.
