22nd July 2015

Khao Pansa

This Sunday, 26th. This public celebration marks the beginning of the rains retreat. The Vassa is a very important time in the monastic calendar and the lay community comes together to acknowledge this. A very joyful, “Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!” kind of thing. We should be so lucky! Begins at 10:00am and finishes around 1:30pm. All are welcome.
Vassa

The full moon is on Thursday 30th July. After a few days settling a week of community group practice (with some teachings) starts 5+ August. You are welcome to join us for any part of this. Winter retreat (see below) 28+ Aug. The vassa is a time for study and meditation but the primary monastery schedule will pretty much continue unchanged [see calendar for details]. Guest accommodation is limited. No work projects. Focus on Dhamma!
Winter Retreat

Friday, August 28th – Sunday, September 6th. “Knowledge in Samadhi-Sati”. That there ‘is’ knowledge and that it is ‘in’, and accessible, through concentration and mindfulness. KiSS… as a metaphor for embracing and opening to the space of the mind and all that it contains. booking form
Luang Por Sumedho

We are delighted to inform you that Ajahn Sumedho will be visiting us next year. Dates and details have yet to be finalised but it is likely to be some time in March. His last visit was in 2009. This is a rare occasion and one we will make the most of. We will announce details as they arrive.
Kathina Season

Vassa hasn’t even started yet and we are getting ready! November, Sunday 8th. Part of the reason for setting the date early was to ensure that Ajahn Khemmavaro, the abbot of Wat BuddhaDhamma out of Sydney, would be able to join us. Ajahn Sucitto will also be with us to celebrate.
Dana List

People coming to the monastery often ask what we need. There is a list in the kitchen and many phone us to check that. We now have that list on the web site Dana List You can check this any time. Thank you for your support. Anumodana.
