Kathina CeremonyJoin us for our annual Kathina Ceremony on Sunday, November 3rd at 10:00 AM. This special event marks the end of the Rains Retreat (Vassa) and is a time for the community to come together in celebration and generosity. The Kathina tradition was established by the Buddha over 2500 years ago and is the largest alms-giving ceremony of the Buddhist year. The focus is on offering robe cloth to the Sangha, which is considered a most meritorious and joyful act. All are welcome to attend this auspicious occasion.
Celebrating Alan’s Journey as AnagarikaWe are delighted to share the wonderful news that Alan received the Anagarika precepts on Sunday, September 22nd. This was a joyous occasion filled with warmth and community as we celebrated Alan’s decision to embark on a life of simplicity and service. Alan has been a cherished member of our community for several months. His radiant kindness, helpfulness, and friendly nature have already touched the hearts of many. We are happy to officially welcome him into our in-house team.
New Year Retreat27th December 2024 until 2nd January 2025 – This retreat will be led by Ajahn Nandiyo, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with him and benefit from his presence as we transition into 2025. It’s an ideal setting for meditation, exploration, and gaining deeper understanding. What could be better? This retreat is highly popular, and many have already booked. Updating our constitutionAs per requirements, all existing societies incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908 (the 1908 Act) will need to reregister under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (the 2022 Act) by April 2026. This also means that we will need to update our constitution accordingly.
