Sunday Sutta:The format for the next few Sunday evenings will focus on the Dhammacakka Sutta – the Buddha’s first teaching. Chanting it (in digestible sections), meditating on it and then Ajahn will offer reflections on each section prior to discussion. A copy of the sutta (Pali-Engl) can be downloaded and printed here [print page 1,2 then turn over and print page 3,4] Check it out. Sunday 6pm.
Annual General Meeting:This was held on Sunday 22nd June at 3pm. It was probably one of the most harmonious public meetings I have attended with a good range of positive criticism and constructive suggestions. The committee was re-elected unopposed. Su Mon remains on the c’tee but resigned as Treasurer with Sernty Lim stepping up to take her place. Sadhu. A nice turn was the election of AJ, venerable Kusalacitto’s son, as secretary. view photos A lot of time was given to ratifying the constitution ‘points in principle’ that were discussed at last year’s AGM. An brief overview of the constitution review can be seen: here
New Public Office:Two wonderful devas have offered their time and skills to help setup and run the new office. The set up is almost finished with a desk, chair, carpet, computer – and all that stuff. We just need to get the internet and phone in. Have a peek next time you visit the monastery. view photos
Aruno Arrivo:Venerable has now been here two weeks – arriving just before vassa. We have enjoyed a week of silent group practice and now a week of unstructured time. All is well.
