Vesak
This Sunday, May 28th, 9.45am โ a celebration of the life of the Buddha and all that has come as a result of his life. One of the biggest events on our annual calendar. The children’s Sunday School were here on Saturday and have put up Vesak lanterns so the cloister is looking very festive. We very much hope that you can join with us to celebrate this auspicious day.
Monastery Website
The new website was launched last Thursday and so far has had good feedback. Do feel free to let us know if there is anything that doesn’t work for you or if there are things not there that you think should be. Simplicity is the overall inclination.
Out & About
As the sangha at Bodhinyanarama grows there is increasing consideration of activities outside the monastery. Visits to Palmerston North continue well. There is an evolving group in New Plymouth and Ajahn Kusalo and Venerable Kavidhaja visited there a couple of weeks ago with all events well attended. Ajahn Kusalo was in Auckland last weekend to take part in Vesak celebrations. Ajahn Pasada and Venerable Kavidhaja, currently on tudong, joined the Sunday programme. Sangha activities generally are being reviewed and we will keep the website uptodate as best we can.
Arrivals
Ajahn Nandiyo arrived safely and is settling well. His contribution is already being appreciated. Venerable Javano arrived not so long ago and is happily getting oriented to a new schedule. We are still waiting on a visa for Ajahn Anuttalo but are optimistic that it will come eventually.
Ben has been living in the monastery for several weeks now and has formally requested anagarika ordination. This will be some time after Vesak. He was a postualant in Malaysia for several months so has a good background experience.

Having made a clear commitment to the format we are keen to make it work… ie. get you to join ๐
The 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month. A “Meditation Workshop” โ 1pm until 5pm. The next will be on the 3rd of June.
