Kathina SeasonA joyous time of celebration. There were reciprocal visits between DhammaGavesi, Wat Dhammapradeep and Bodhinyanarama for our respective Kathina events. All were well attended, well organized and happy times. It is also nice to see the mutual support with many people attending not just their own cultural function. There are a few photos of the Wat Thai Kathina and a view photos from our event. Many thanks to all those who made the day the success that it was.
Kitchen GardenThe grasses that were planted some time ago have proved very high maintenance as has the weeding of the white limestone area. These have been both been cleared and two lovely river stones set in place with plans to gravel the whole area – similar to the courtyard. Many people enjoy raking that area and rakes will be made for the kitchen garden with the same thought in mind. view photos
Sri Lanka StonesThe good news is that the moonstone is complete. view photos The entry step is 75% done and shipping should be early November. And rocks multiply – they do… Part of the planning for the west-side of the stupa made it clear that the reclining Buddha rupa needs a lift. So, another stone slab will be included in the shipment – that’s three now. We are still hoping for delivery mid-December.
New Year RetreatA beautiful way to see in the new year. December 26th to January 3rd. It is still a way off but accommodation is limited so be sure to book soon. More details later.
CalendarsWe have copies of the 2018 monastic calendar available at the monastery. Feel free to take one when you are next here. If you are not able to visit the monastery you could send a post-paid, self-addressed envelope and we can send one to you.
