Saturday Workshop:Half the Sangha will be on tudong and this coming Saturday afternoon meditation workshop [March 1st] is cancelled. You are of course welcome to come and meditate. Any time. The next meditation workshop will be on the 15th March. The web site calendar is mostly up to date with all these events.
Tudong:Ajahn Kusalo and Venerable Hiriko will be heading out on Friday for just over a week of wandering in the East Cape area, meeting up with Ajahn Chandako in Rotorua. Ajahn Kusalo made a similar trip last year in the Wairarapa. Things move slowly and a page of info., mostly photos, has been put together here There may well be a similar collection resulting from the forthcoming trip. The monastery will continue as usual (1 exception above) with Ajahn Ariyasilo and Venerable Kusalacitto taking the lead.
Loved Cushions:It has been over a year of discussion, design, decision making and manufacture. Finally, the bamboo boxes have arrived; ‘boxes’ only in respect of the aliteration. They are actually rather elegant and stylish cabinets to hold both the cushions and the books. Certainly more functional than the old kitchen corner cupboard that has been in the downstairs eating area. Neat – and nice. view photos

Office:This is another long-term, ongoing project (upstairs, over the kitchen) aimed at centralising the monastery administration. The old kitchen corner cupboard mentioned above arrived in the monastery in the early ’90s as a result of Denis Win Thein renovating his new residence in Stokes Valley. Denis continues his support and generosity – this time with office furniture. All will be revealed… this year? next? No hurry.
