Ajahn Sucitto FarewellAjahn Sucitto came to Bodhinyanarama nearly a year ago. His time with us has been very much valued but… all good things come to an end. He will offer a final dhamma talk on Sunday evening, heading north and beyond on Monday. He has set no date but we are planning that “He’ll be back.!” We wish him a smooth and trouble free onward journey and extend our heartfelt appreciation for his time here.
Aj. Kusalo in Oz.Ajahn Kusalo has just returned from nearly 2 weeks in Australia. Ajahn Khemavaro was at Bodhinyanarama for a week and Aj. Kusalo returned with him for his first visit to Wat Buddha Dhamma outside of Sydney. There was time to spend with the community, chat chant dhamma tea talk, time to explore the land and time to meditate. And then to Dhammagiri west of Brisbane where Ajahn has been many times. Meeting old friends and new, enjoying the enthusiastic interest in dhamma. A very warm time both, in respect of weather and sangha. view photos
Ajahn MedhinoPreviously at Wat Buddha Dhamma ajahn will come to stay at Bodhinyanarama until the end of the year. This is his first visit and we very much look forward to getting to know him better and to share some of his dhamma.
ToiletWork has begun on the new loo out back of the main sala. The building is waterproof and looking forward to plumbing, electric and drainage. Linings, paint, flooring, landscaping, and a few etcs. We are very luck to have Gary (who built the kitchen) back to do this work. Check it out next time you visit. view photos
Store it TidyWith rising fuel costs, our plentiful supply of firewood combined with the monastic lifestyle-adage of ‘chop wood, haul water’ there are moves to put wood burning heaters in some of the kutis. Bruce has built a superb woodshed – mostly using recycled material. A side-line of this project was the resurrection of the old composting system. And, nothing to do with either storing organic waste or fuel, is Lyndsay’s new cushion bin. This will replace the old kitchen cupboard currently used in the dana sala. view photos
