AnagarikaRyan took the anagarika precepts on Tuesday and is now formally a part of the sangha. view photos We welcome him as an addition to the community and wish him every success in his ongoing practice and commitment to the monastic life. Vassa is only 3 weeks away so it is nice that he has time to adjust to this new life.
Stewards PraiseWe have three very committed lay stewards; Suan, looking after kitchen – Bruce, coordinating building works and Lindsay who keeps many things working in the office. I would like to bring attention to all the work that they do – both directly in their respective roles and also in much that they do to generally support the smooth running of the monastery. They have been doing this for several years and their efforts are praiseworthy – Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu. Feel free to add yours sometime.
Kuti RenovationThe basement of Raja kuti has been divided into two kutis; Garden and Lotus. These are not quite finished yet – painting, trim, etc. still needed – but are closed in and will be used for the retreat. The result is a very satisfactory conversion of the old space; much cosier and better light and sun. view photos
