2nd September 2013

As Usual:As in… schedule at the Monastery. We have passed the first month of vassa with Venerable Hiriko doing a self-retreat and Ajahn Kusalo currently doing same. While aiming to keep things quiet and overall un-busy we are maintaining most of the usual scheduled events; Saturday meditation workshops, Sunday talks, danas, morning and evening pujas, etc. See the calendar for details.
Land Swap:This has been under discussion for about a year now and has finally been agreed in Council. As well as resolving the trespass issue our boundary is better defined and land area increased. see: News>The Future
Previous Update:This was sent via Australia [on July 7th] and it seems many did not receive it. One of the main items was a report on the Annual General Meeting.
Photos:Ajahn wonders why there weren’t more from his trip to Thailand and Malaysia. Two photos.! Is this monk mode v’s tourist mode? The vassa yields even less photo opps. 2view photoss
Ajahn Rocano:Arrived safely from Brisbane a week or so ago, he will be staying with us for six months or so. The change in his weather zone has brought on a cold and we hope this is brief and doesn’t unduly affect his vassa.
Quakes:And there were some people who thought they were experiencing higher states of meditation. It may indeed be so. The good news is we had no problems, no damage, no worry.
After Vassa:There are quite a few minor projects taking shape and we will have at least one working bee later in the spring. One of these is starting clearing, preparation and construction of two new kutis in the lay area. Dates and times to be advised.
Kathina Season:Our robe offering here will on November 3rd. There will be several visiting monks. More details later.
