Veask:This is the big one! The Buddha’s birthday. The Buddha’s enlightenment. The Buddha’s final passing. A day to honour a great being and a day of celebrating his life and legacy. Come in the morning 9:45. Ajahn in Oz.:Ajhan’s mum is now well settled in a new home. Many friends have offered help, both in Oz and in NZ. This has made the whole process so much easier. We all move toward old age and these transitions are truly heavenly messengers; the lessons are not always pleasant, but always beneficial. Spritual friendship helps us all on our journey. Anumodana.
Ajahn Karuniko:Will be arriving at Bodhinyanarama on Wednesday afternoon (for tent inspection :). Many of you may remember him from his time at Bodhinyanarama during the ’90s. He will be joining us for our Vesak celebrations. He will also visit Palmerston North for their Friday night/dana program. He will be off to Auckland on the afternoon of the 14th.
10 Day Meditation Retreat:August Friday 15th to Sunday 24th. The general theme will be “Satipatthana” with special emphasis on the 2nd: Mindfulness of Sensations (pleasant, un-p, neither p nor un-p). It will be semi-residential but several people have already booked so, if you are hoping to be resident, don’t leave it too late. New Monk:We have started the immigration process to have Venerable Aruno with us for a year or so. This should all be done so he can be here for vassa this year.
