Annual General Meeting:This was held in the monastery sala on Sunday June 9th with about thirty people attending. The committee was re-elected, with the exception of Bounchan who stood down for work related reasons. Sern-ty Lim was welcomed as a new c’tee member. There are now nine on the c’tee. The ongoing review of the constitution took up much of the meeting time and a new Item 2. was agreed and will be added. Other items were discussed but the lateness of the hour didn’t allow completion of all. The meeting was well focussed and harmonious. Sadhu to the committee and to all who attended.
Vassa:The 22nd of July is the full moon and marks the start of the three month monastic retreat. There will be a period of group practice, starting on the 24th and finishing on the night of the 31st. It will roughly follow the usual retreat schedule with periods of sitting and walking alternating through the day. Some teaching will be given. You are most welcome to join us through this time.
Garden Kuti Upgrade:From being a slightly dark and poky space this is now prime real estate. The latest addition is a waterproofed deck which includes a meditation path. view photos
Play Time:We were recently visited by parents, helpers and kids from the Stokes Valley playcenter. They were all surprised and delighted by the place. view photos
Play Time II:Is it a case of “the dog ate my homework” or “the GYQ tried to eat our Kitchen?” The food is indeed *really* good but… hey! the door is open most times through the day. Good news is, no one was hurt and damage was not that extensive. We should have a caption contest…
