7th July 2015

Working Bee

This coming Saturday – 11th July. Come for breakfast for a good start at 8:30am. Come for puja on Friday evening and stay the night. The basic work period will be 8:30 > 2:30(ish). This is “phase one” and will mostly involve cleaning, gardening and generally tidy up. Come for lunch..? just come ๐Ÿ™‚ – anytime.
Annual General Meeting

This was very well attended and pleasantly harmonious. The main business was the election of the committee and the only change from 2014 was Aj resigning and Linda being elected. We missed a photo but will try for one at our next meeting.
Vassa

The full moon is on Thursday 30th July. We will celebrate Khao Pansa on Sunday 26th. Ajahn Sucitto is off to Oz this Friday and will return after vassa. There will be a week of group practice (with some teachings) from 5+ August. Winter retreat (see below) 28+ Aug. Generally the 3 month vassa is a time for study and meditation but the general schedule will (mostly) continue unchanged. Guest accommodation will be limited. No work projects. Focus on Dhamma!
Winter Retreat

Friday, August 28th – Sunday, September 6th. “Knowledge in Samadhi-Sati” โ€“ that there is knowledge and that it is ‘in’, and accessible, through concentration and mindfulness. KiSS… as a metaphor for embracing and opening to the space of the mind and all that it contains. booking form
Ajahn Sucitto

Ajahn will be leaving for Oz. this Friday and will spend vassa at Wat BuddhaDhamma, about 2 hours out of Sydney. He will be back after vassa.
Projects

With vassa not so far away we are trying to finish off as many work projects as we can.
  • A false ceiling is being added to the Bhikkhu vihara common room. We use this space for regular meetings and it has been almost impossible to heat during winter.
  • The Chao Khun kuti has a new privacy screen and a meditation walking path is underway.
  • Ajahn Kusalo has a new wood stove in his kuti. Very cosy!
  • Pit toilets are being installed for the two new kutis.
  • The Memorial Grove โ€“ will take years but is taking shape.
