VESAK

Sunday, May 24th. Ajahn Tiradhammo and other visiting monks will join us to celebrate the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and final passing. This time presents a powerful reflection on the main factor that makes our journey to nibbana possible. A joyful community gathering to express our gratitude and generate blessings.
Ajahn Tiradhammo

Ajahn will be staying at Bodhinyanarama from the 19th to the 29th of May. He will be offering some teaching during this time and you would be most welcome to visit the monastery to meet with him.
Celebration

We celebrated Songkran three weeks ago and the day was truly a joyful blessing. Last Sunday we inaugurated the sitting Buddha rupa with a warm and uplifting ceremony. Both occasions brought a large group together highlighting the beautiful and wholesome qualities of this community. There is a harmonious energy that supports Bodhinyanarama and offers opportunities like these to come together and further our friendships and spiritual journey. A hearty SADHU to all! view photos
Queen’s Birthday Retreat

An exploration of non-perception. May 29th to June 1st. Accommodation has moved to a waiting list. This is a semi-residential retreat so you can also come for the day and return home in the evening. A chance to be silent, meditate, investigate one’s being… the world. booking form
Bhante Buddharakhita

We had a delightful visit from Bhante Buddharakhita recently. He is mainly based in the U.S. but travels quite widely and we were happy to a part of his first NZ trip. The Sangha had a lively discussion with him and he kindly gave a Dhamma talk on Sunday evening. We look forward to his return. view photos
Entrance Car Park

Another hearty SADHU… this time to Alf Siriman whose company, C&S Civil, donated the cost of resurfacing the lower car park in memory of his grand-parents. His workmen did a superb job and the result is a joy to behold. Anumodana! view photos
Dana Receipts

With a view to make our accounting more effective we have been working over the last year on three new projects: annual tax receipts, online dana management and an overall move to ‘cloud accounting.’ These all involve digital transitions and, if you’ve ever worked with such things, you will know there are always a few glitches in the matrix. For most of you the only visible (or currently ‘in’visible) element will be your dana tax receipts. These should be with you soon. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Stupa

The broken section has been repaired and we are now looking at getting the whole repainted. The trees obscuring the main retaining wall have had to be heavily trimmed and we aim to keep these better hedged. There is a lot more gardening work required around the stupa. There is also the back, open portion of the boundary (opposite side of the entrance) to be done. This was part of the original design but has never quite happened. It may take a while but… it is on the list ๐Ÿ™‚ view photos
